Question for me today: What are you hopes and aspirations?
Answer to me for me: My thoughts are all over the place and my hopes and aspirations are sending me in the direction of enjoyable stability and a purpose.
This morning on my walk, I listened to a podcast that may have finally given me the direction and purpose I’ve been searching for—but hesitating to pursue. Lately, I’ve been pouring time and heart into my art, enjoying the space it gives me to grow and reconnect with myself. But a question keeps bubbling up: What is the purpose?
Deep down, I know the answer.
I want to be a professional artist. I want to spend meaningful time in the studio, share my work, and yes—sell my art. Not for the money, but for the validation that comes with putting my creative vision into the world and seeing it resonate with others. Today, that dream feels both thrilling and possible.
I know I’m good enough. I have so many ideas—it’s just a matter of harnessing them, shaping them, and most importantly, sharing them. So here’s the plan:
First: I’m committing to finishing this blog series—one post a day for the next 33 days, ending on July 12. Expect some rambling, some experimentation, and hopefully, some insight as I think (and write) out loud.
Next: I’ll complete my 100 Faces project. I’m at 70 now, and my goal is to reach 100 by June 30. This project is helping me explore my style and better understand how I want to present my portraits—and which mediums I’m most drawn to. The great thing is that once I get going, I can crank out four or five faces in a single session, so I know I can get there.
Then: I’ll finish the CVP course. We’re in Week 10 of 12, and I’m currently developing a new series. My aim is to wrap up the course and this body of work by the end of June. After that, I’ll start building out more series and working toward a fuller portfolio.
Yes, this is a lot. But I feel energized—more ready than ever. The creative momentum is here, and I’m grabbing hold.
Once these milestones are behind me, I’ll begin focusing on the next chapter: sharing my work more consistently, building a presence, and treating my art as the business I know it can be.
This time, I’m not just dreaming. I’m doing.
Wish me luck—and stick around. I’ll be sharing the journey every step of the way.
