My question to myself today: If I could go anywhere at this very moment, where would it be?

My answer: Paris, to spend a week immersed in the Louvre.

I just listened to a podcast featuring a woman discussing her upcoming book, Discovering the Hidden Secrets of the Louvre, set to be released in April. I was completely drawn in. The history, the stories, the mysteries—it all fascinates me, not to mention the art itself.

I’ve been to the Louvre a couple of times, but I’ve never had the opportunity to spend as much time there as I’d like. Both visits were with people who aren’t as museum-obsessed as I am, so I’ve always longed to return. I want to do more than just skim the surface—I want to truly experience the Louvre. After hearing about this book, which I’m planning to pre-order, I feel inspired to start making plans.

Paris has so much to offer beyond the Louvre, but for once, I’d love to focus solely on this one place. I want to absorb the atmosphere, the emotions, and the sheer depth of it. Using this book as a guide, I can see myself diving deep into the museum’s secrets, treating it like a springboard into an entirely new appreciation of the Louvre.

I love Paris. I love the people. I also find them intimidating—their elegance, their self-assurance. But maybe it’s time to face that and embrace another trip to France. Perhaps this dream of an extended, immersive visit to the Louvre isn’t so far off after all.
