Question to myself today: What are you looking forward to?
My answer: As winter makes its exit, I find myself really looking forward to spring—and then summer. I miss the sun and the warmth, the feeling of sunshine on my skin, and the freedom that comes with longer days. More than anything, I miss swimming and kayaking, two activities that make me feel connected to nature and at peace with myself.
Beyond the change in seasons, I’m also looking forward to spending quality time with my family. There’s something about those slow, easy moments together—whether it’s a shared meal, a conversation on the porch, watching the doggos play, or a simple day spent doing nothing in particular—that brings a deep sense of contentment. This year, I want to embrace that relaxation and really savor the time I have with the people who matter most.
On a more personal level, I have some art courses lined up, and I’m excited to explore my creativity further. I hope to improve not just in my artistic skills but also in sharing my work more openly in the media. Putting myself out there has always been a challenge, but growth comes from stepping outside of comfort zones, and I’m ready to take that step. You can see that by the way I have managed to keep this 100 Day writing project going!
Totally unlike me, I don’t have any major international travel plans in the works. While that feels a little strange, I’m embracing the idea of smaller, more spontaneous trips instead. Maybe a getaway to the beach, a return to Montana, or a visit to Santa Fe—places that bring me joy without the stress of extensive planning.
Perhaps, more than anything, I’m looking forward to a slower, more intentional way of living. There’s something deeply appealing about being a low-pressure homebody—enjoying the little things, finding beauty in the everyday, and simply appreciating life as it unfolds. And right now, that sounds like the perfect plan.
