Day 3 Question to Myself: What do you want for your life?

My answer: I find it more useful to first ask myself, “What don’t I want for my life?” Having already lived two-thirds of it, my perspective is far different from what it would have been in my 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, or even my 60s.

One thing I absolutely don’t want is to be surrounded by fear. I don’t want to be in an environment where people cheat, steal, or act unkindly and selfishly. I don’t want to live in complacency, sitting back while the world moves forward in a direction that doesn’t align with my values. I don’t want to see the life I’ve worked for and the principles I’ve held dear slowly disappear.

This is partly a political statement, but, more importantly, it’s a statement about human rights. I don’t want anyone to suffer, to feel forgotten, or to carry the burden of anxiety every single day.

What I do want is for people to understand that kindness, care, and support matter. It’s important to listen—not just hear—and to truly consider others’ perspectives. We can disagree without resorting to punishment or violence. My life won’t be measured by the things I accumulate. It will be richer by witnessing others succeed, or at the very least, survive with dignity.

Above all, in the last third of my life, I want to see as many people as possible living good lives—feeling pride in their work, having their basic needs met, and, crucially, living without fear.

As I move through this next phase of my life, my goal isn’t wealth or material success—it’s the well-being of others. I want to see a world where kindness prevails over fear, where human rights are honored, and where every person can live with dignity, free from the shadows of uncertainty. That’s the life I hope for—both for myself and for those around me.

Welcome to my life and the experiences that shape who I am. In February 2025, I embarked on a 100-Day Project, challenging myself to ask and answer a question every day. I invite you to follow along, explore my daily Q&A, and perhaps discover something new about yourself along the way.

Join me on this adventure of learning, creating, and embracing a slower, more intentional way of living—with my loyal companion, Andy, by my side.

Welcome to my journey!
