Such an interesting week to say the least. I am back into the rhythm of my everyday schedule. I made it through the disappointment of the elections. Today I am moving forward with grace and ease, knowing there is always opportunity to grow, adjust, and accept.

I have spent the last few days teaching quite a few yoga classes, both mine and also subbing for other teachers. It felt good, but to be honest, I am still intimidated whenever I teach. I love what I do and after the class is over, feel happy and satisfied with what I have done. I sometimes lack confidence not in my ability to teach, but to meet student expectations. This lack of confidence in my teaching yoga and in my art practice has been weighing on my mind. I am constantly questioning myself.
Today as Andy and I were out on our morning walk and a podcast popped in my play list. It was serendipity – a podcast I listen regularly, Savvy Painter Podcast by Antrese Wood’s latest episode was titled “How to Cultivate Confidence As an Artist” came up. Very informative for me, not only as an artist, but also as a yoga instructor. Both roles require a creative process and self confidence to keep going. This was a rebroadcast of a live event and her talk and coaching was exactly what I needed to hear.
Whether it is doubting yourself, habits of self sabotage, knowing that what you do creatively does matter. Being centered, aware, and not taking yourself too seriously are ways to move past feelings of fear and the lack of confidence. Great podcast, very timely for me and it must have sparked something because here I am writing in my blog.
Take care be confident, be present, and enjoy whatever it is you are doing!
