There is nothing fancy about this picture or this plant, but it is still interesting. I love the way the stalks rise like towers. While it appears to be a large plant, in reality, it is only about six inches tall. These are the small, random things I encounter every day as Andy and I walk. Our walks take us to a variety of places and terrains, from the golf course to the river, over rocky paths, and through green grassy parks. We always find something interesting. For me, it is looking and then snapping a photo; for Andy, it is sniffing and then, all too often, trying to eat it.
Without exception, every morning we walk one to four miles, and it is the perfect way to start our day. I love the sunshine, the fresh air, and, depending on my mood, listening to a good podcast or just the sounds of nature. The routine of our daily walk is my way of learning to live slowly and with ease.
